Modal is one of my favorite materials for underwear. It truly makes it feel like you aren't wearing anything. I suggest buying a size up if you are in-between sizes. They are a bit low waisted, so don't be surprised. I don't feel like my thighs are being compressed and that's saying a lot since trunks aren't normally designed for thicker thighed folk.
